Being Exempt from Wearing a Face Mask

Some people can’t wear a face mask or covering because of a disability or severe distress. The link below provides access to a variety of exemption cards. Download the PDF below to print your own exemption card

Other Exemptions

GP’s are not being asked to routinely provide evidence of exemption.  There are very few medical conditions that would be detrimentally affected by wearing a mask or face covering.  If you do wish the GP to consider providing you with a letter to this effect there will be a charge for this and you must make your request in writing, however it is highly likely that in all but the most extreme circumstances your request will be declined and you will be signposted to the above links.
